ERIKA
HALL JOHNSON

Educator

Erika Hall Johnson is a Baltimore native who for the past 25 years has worked as a ministry leader, community organizer, and school teacher in Atlanta, Oklahoma City, and Dallas. Soon after accepting Christ at the age of 12, Sis. Erika’s path as an educator was set when Sis. Walker called her to teach Children’s Church in the basement of First Apostolic Faith Church. She now serves as the Head of School at The New Century School in Baltimore, Maryland. A graduate of the University of Maryland and Loyola University Maryland, she is currently a doctoral student in the School of Education at American University researching the impact of cultural identity development and economic mobility structures for Black students and families in NE Oklahoma City.  Over the past 28 years, with her husband Rev. Darron Johnson, she created a warm, loving home and raised three phenomenally happy humans and 4 pampered pups. When she isn’t reading and pouring a cup of tea, you can find her laughing with her family, making art, or walking in the woods with her dogs.
